Flag Colors & Description

The Saudi Arabian flag is green with the Shahada (Muslim creed) in large white Arabic script above a white horizontal saber with the tip pointed to the hoist side. Green is the traditional color in Islamic flags. The Shahada translates as "There is no god but God; Muhammad is the Messenger of God". The design dates to the early twentieth century.
